Skylight Press is thrilled to announce that it will be reissuing the classic Iain Sinclair texts, Lud Heat and Suicide Bridge, as separate volumes – with the first coming out as early as May, 2012. In anticipation of these wonderful books we would like to announce the following audio recording to be released through Test Centre. More information about the book releases will follow shortly.
The first output from London-based label and publisher Test Centre is Stone Tape Shuffle, a vinyl-only LP by Iain Sinclair. The album consists of readings from some of Iain’s best work across his career, including Lud Heat, Suicide Bridge, White Chappell Scarlet Tracings and Downriver, made in situ at locations corresponding to the texts. Stone Tape Shuffle, which also contains material from Iain’s archive as well as numerous field recordings, takes its inspiration from a long but neglected history of experimental spoken word vinyl, from Giorno Poetry Systems and William S. Burroughs to Celine, Camus and the French tradition. Released in an edition of 400 copies, it is available to buy via www.testcentre.org.uk.
